I have reserved a block of tickets for the Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival's production of Much Ado About Nothing. Students from my Shakespeare class will be going; if any of you are interested in going too, please let me know, and I'll set aside tickets for you. The tickets are for the 7:30 performance on Friday 8 April, and cost $13 (the group rate). Feel free to bring friends. If you'd like to go, please let me know, and please give me money by Friday 25 March.
Also, from Feb 17-Mar 6, the CSF will be staging a production of Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida. While I'm not taking my Shakespeare class to this production, I'd be happy to arrange for a LaLink group to go, if we have enough people to get the group rate. If you're interested in going, please let me know at the meeting next week. If we get more than 10 people, we could get tickets for $14.
Finally, the Artistic Director of the CSF, Brian Philips, is giving a series of introductory talks at the Public Library (i.e., the one downtown) on the plays the CSF are performing this season. He'll be speaking on Troilus and Cressida on Feb 2 and on Much Ado About Nothing on Mar 9. Both talks begin at 7. If you're interested, you need to call 369-6991 to make a reservation. Philips is an interesting and entertaining guy, and I'm sure the talks will be informative and fun.
